The first trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is here, giving fans a look at what to expect when they return to the world of the fantastic beasts of 2016 and where to find them when the sequel to the Harry Potter prequel hits the theaters.
Making a comeback is the magical zoologist of Eddie Redmayne, Newt Scamander. He was last seen in New York, tracing some of his fantastic escaped beasts before being engulfed in a larger plot with the infamous dark magician Grindelwald who wants to conquer the magical world. Also for the sequel is Katherine Waterston, as Newt's love interest, Porpetina Goldstein, Dan Fogler as the friendly and non-magical friend of Newt, Jacob Kowalski, and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, who seems to have survived his apparent death in the previous movie.
The second film will resume after the events of the first, after the capture of Grindelwald. The trailer also gives us our first glimpses of Jude Law as a young Albus Dumbledore, who seems to be working behind the scenes with Newt to fight against Grindelwald.
Grindelwald's crimes have been under scrutiny in recent months about the casting of Johnny Depp as the main character Grindelwald due to accusations of verbal and physical abuse by his ex-wife, Amber Heard. But the author of the series J.K. Rowling, director David Yates and Warner Bros. have all supported the decision.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald hits theaters on November 18.
