Amazon has ordered its first animated series: a dramedy from the creator of BoJack Horseman, Raphael Bob-Waksberg, and its writer and producer Kate Purdy. According to Amazon, the half-hour series, Undone, is about a woman named Alma who discovers that she has a "new relationship with time" after a car accident.
Bob-Waksberg and Purdy will also be executive producers, along with Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen (both executive producers on BoJack), and Tommy Pallotta (A Scanner Darkly). The artist Hisko Hulsing will work with a team of designers in the Netherlands to visualize the story.
The news does not mean that Bob-Waksberg and Purdy's relationship with Netflix is over. Last month, Netflix ordered another animated series of 10 episodes of Bob-Waksberg, Bright and Cohen, called Tuca & Bertie. The comedy, created by BoJack producer Lisa Hanawalt, is about a pair of "30-year-old women living in the same apartment building" and starring Tiffany Haddish of Girls Trip. Last fall, Netflix revamped BoJack Horseman, its longest-running animated series, for the fifth season.
Undone will debut on Amazon sometime in 2019.
