Another report notes that Apple is working on its own pair of high-end hearing aids with noise canceling and headsets, with a launch scheduled for later this year. The headphones will rival allegedly brands like Bose and Beats by Dre, (which Apple owns), reports Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the development of the product. However, the new headphones have apparently also faced problems similar to those of HomePod, which was delayed and went through multiple redesigns.
Apple has been working on the headphones for the past year, and the new headphones will have a wireless pairing like the AirPods. But Bloomberg sources said there was a possibility that the design of the headphones could be revised or that the entire project could be completely ruled out. This new report supports an earlier note published by Apple's leading analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities last week, who said Apple is working on a pair of headphones that are as "convenient as AirPods with better sound quality. "
There's no indication of how much these headphones will cost, but since the HomePod costs $ 349 and is priced higher than other smart speakers in the Sonos and Amazon market, it's likely that Apple's headphones cost more. The high-end Beats headphones cost around $ 300, while Bose and Sennheiser also have models in that price range.
