Casio today presents a new smart outdoor watch that runs Google Wear OS, but it does not look very different from some of Casio's old Wear OS watches. In fact, it looks exactly the same and seems to have all the same specifications and features, except one: it costs $ 100 less.
The new Pro Trek Smart Outdoor Watch, or the WSD-F20A will sell for $ 399 when it launches on May 1. That's $ 100 less than the WSD-F20, which was introduced in January. The two watches look identical, apart from their color. We communicate with Casio to find out if there are other differences.
The good thing about this series of Casio watches is how little they resemble traditional devices with operating system wear. Casio has customized watches to make them more useful for outdoor navigation. The latest models include GPS and mapping, as well as an altimeter, barometer and compass. They can also function as an activity tracker. As you would expect from looking at them, they are also resistant and resistant to water.
The original incarnation of the Pro Trek smart watch was successful when it came to hiking, but it was not enough for other outdoor activities, including exercises like cycling. This year's models begin to address many of these deficiencies, with GPS being the most notable addition.
