Technological billionaire Elon Musk leaves the board of OpenAI, the nonprofit research group he co-founded with Y Combinator chairman, Sam Altman, to study the ethics and security of artificial intelligence.
The movement was announced in a brief blog post, explaining that Musk is leaving to avoid a conflict of interest between the work of OpenAI and the automatic learning research carried out by Telsa to develop autonomous driving. "As Tesla continues to focus more on artificial intelligence, this will eliminate a possible future conflict for Elon," the publication says. Musk will remain as an OpenAI donor and will continue to advise the group.
