Since its debut last year, the Google Assistant has become more conversational, more useful and is available on even more devices, including Nest. And during that time, we've worked closely with Google to create new ways to control your Nest products with the Google Assistant.
You can now ask your Wizard in Google Home to change the temperature of your Nest Thermostat. But that's just the beginning. This winter, you can talk to your Google Assistant directly from your Nest Cam IQ interior camera. And today we announce three new integrations between Google and Nest products that will be available soon to help make keeping your family safe easier than ever.
First, you can see what happens in your home, using only your voice. Say, "Ok Google, show me my backyard," and you can use your Google Assistant speaker to stream live from your Nest Cams to your Chromecast.
Your Google Home can also help you get out when your hands are busy, thanks to the introduction of routines. Just say, "Ok Google, I'm leaving" to turn on your Nest Cams, lower the Nest Thermostat and turn off the lights. Finally, you can also build your Nest Secure alarm system with a single voice command.
And finally, if you have the Nest Hello video ringer (which will enter early in 2018) with a Nest Aware subscription, it can be automatically streamed to Google Home devices in your home to tell you who's at the door. *
Watch for these and other integrations later this winter, available through free software updates, as Google and Nest continue to work together to make the home even more connected.
* The Family Facial Alerts feature is not available on the Nest Cams used in Illinois.
