Google is now allowing musicians to post updates that will be displayed within their "Knowledge Panel," also known as the card that appears when searching for famous people. It's another expansion of the Google Publications feature that the company has been rolling out in recent years and that started with big companies and celebrities in 2016 and included local businesses last year.
Along with automatically generated content, such as YouTube videos and biographical information, musicians will now be able to publish their own images, videos, GIFs and text. If it looks a lot like Twitter, that's because basically it's like that, until the verified blue mark will inform you that the publications are really from the artist (or at least from their authorized representatives).
The feature is live today for any musician whose search results already include a Knowledge Panel. If you meet the criteria (it's fairly easy to verify, just Google), you can sign up to verify and start posting on the Google Publications website.
