Google is adding a new activity panel to Documents, Sheets and Slides that allows users with the ability to edit files to check to see who else saw the file and when they saw it, through Engadget.
If you are the type of person who activates the reading receipts to know when your friends and colleagues have seen your message but have not responded, you can now get the same experience with the documents you share. With the new activity panel, you can find out if Jeff really read that note last week. Or, more practically, users who accidentally mistaken share permissions on documents can find out who accidentally accessed the file.

G Suite administrators will be able to activate the activity panel feature starting today and the feature will be implemented for users as of March 21.
