When we talk about the dangers posed by artificial intelligence, the unwanted side effects are usually emphasized. We are concerned that we may accidentally create a super intelligent AI and forget to program it with consciousness; or that we will implement criminal sentencing algorithms that have absorbed the racist biases of their training data.
But this is just the half of the story.
