Microsoft is introducing its first major update of the SwiftKey keyboard that it acquired in 2016. Today's version 7.0 replaces the existing hub on the keyboard with a new toolbar that expands to provide access to stickers, GIF and soon some features useful calendar and location. The new toolbar is designed to make it faster to insert GIF, emoji and the new sticker packages that Microsoft will make available.
The new additions, the most interesting location and calendar will soon arrive at the toolbar. The location feature will allow SwiftKey users in India or the USA. UU Share your location in many applications, and calendar integration will allow people to insert calendar appointments in any application directly from the keyboard toolbar. Even so, this new toolbar configures Microsoft to fight for the control of its iPhone or Android keyboard along with Google's GBoard application.
Microsoft removed the keyboard from its Windows phone for the iPhone last year and encouraged users to download SwiftKey instead. Now it seems that the development for Microsoft keyboards is channeled towards SwiftKey, instead of the variety of iOS keyboards that the company has been testing. That should result in even better improvements for SwiftKey, as we are seeing today. The latest SwiftKey update is now available on both iOS and Android.
