Netgear's Arlo line of wireless security cameras are not exactly the cheapest on the market, but they are super popular, beautiful to watch, full of features, and are now receiving assistance from Google Assistant.
Once you add your Arlo cameras to the Google Home application (most of the Arlo line is compatible), you can ask the Google Assistant to lift any of those camera feeds. You can stream the video to the Google Assistant on iOS and Android, but the real fun is in the integration of Chromecast. It works a bit like this:
"Ok Google, show Front Door in the TV room"
Other security cameras, including Logitech & # 39; s Circle and Nest Cam IQ, have already been sent with the Google Assistant. With Nest Cam IQ you can use the built-in microphone and speaker of the camera as Google Home limited, but Netgear has not gotten that far with its integration with Arlo.
It is also important to keep in mind that most Arlo cameras already work with any Alexa device that has a screen, such as Fire TV, Fire Tablet or Echo Show, and at least Arlo Baby Smart HD works with Apple's HomeKit for compatibility with Apple TV.
Voice assistants have always shone in two areas: setting up timers and controlling smart homes. It is nice to see that the integration of Google Assistant and Alexa are becoming predetermined features for these tiny smart cameras that we have distributed in our homes.
