Symantec ends NRA membership deals after backlash

Symantec, the software giant behind products like Norton AntiVirus, has broken an association with the National Rifle Association after public pressure.
"Symantec stopped its discount program with the National Rifle Association," a company spokesman told The Verge in a statement. No other information about the decision was provided.
A still available Symantec website offered product discounts to NRA members.
Since the shooting at a high school last week in Parkland, Florida, pressure has mounted on companies that offer similar discounts to NRA members. The parent company behind the car rental brands like Enterprise previously dropped their discounts.
