T-Mobile has announced that through an update today, it is now supporting Apple's Business Chat. Included in iOS 11.3, Business Chat is a way for customers to chat with company representatives via iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. That means that instead of calling, sending emails or accessing Twitter DMs and Facebook Messenger when you have a question, you can talk directly to a human being in a company through the iMessage application.
Although T-Mobile already offers the possibility to converse with representatives through its application, it is never bad to have more (and, of course, simpler) ways of obtaining an account from a company. T-Mobile says it is accessible through Maps, where a "Message" icon will appear when you click on the list of a T-Mobile location, and when you type "T-Mobile" in Spotlight on your phone (although when I tried, it did not work). Once you touch the message icon, you will go to the iMessage application to start a conversation.
Through this, T-Mobile says you can change your plan, change your address, check your balance, ask questions and, if you need help to solve problems, you can send screenshots to the person you are talking to. Things like Apple Pay and the calendar are integrated, so you can also do things like buy a new phone or pay an existing balance. Whenever you use the same Apple ID, you can start a conversation and then search for it on any of your Apple devices.
Business Chat was announced last year at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. The implementation at the end of last month brought support for other initial Business Chat partners, including Home Depot, Hilton Hotels and Newegg.
