The world has a new holder of the record for the largest SSD, and reaches 100TB. The Nimbus Data DC100 ExaDrive is a new and massive unit that is currently being tested with select customers and will be available to purchase this summer.
The company says the DC100 will use NAND 3D flash memory, which can provide enough capacity to store 20,000 HD movies, or 20 million songs, (if people still download music), and is capable of reading and writing speeds of 500MB / s . Nimbus Data also fully guarantees the unit for five years without restrictions, so if your very expensive unit likely kicks the spoon during that period, you can replace it.
As usual with these massive units, they are not aimed at consumers, but they give an idea of a near future that can allow us to never think about cleaning the storage space in our computers.
