Micro videos have been in vogue since Vine (RIP), and later Boomerang, made the format fun and easy to shoot. Now, Tinder is currently testing a two-second video loop feature for profiles that are similar to the profile videos of Boomerang and Facebook.
Tinder Loops is the first video-based feature of the dating application, and is currently being tested for iOS users in Canada and Sweden. Users can upload videos from their phones and trim images within the Tinder application.
Although it gives users another way to express the best of themselves, it exerts a bit of pressure on putting together the perfect loop to put on their profile. How can you skillfully create a two-second loop that indicates who you are as a person? Selecting still photos is quite difficult. If you're struggling, the update allows users to have three additional photos or Loops on their profile (for a total of nine), so at least you have many opportunities to show your true self. Tinder did not specify when the Loops will appear outside of the current test markets.
