Phone manufacturers are still discovering the best way to offer consumers edge-to-edge displays and, at the same time, leave room for the front camera. But in the leaked images and videos that supposedly show the next Mi Mix 2 of Xiaomi, the Chinese company seems to have found a novel solution: to place the camera in the corner.
Filtered images of Mi Mix 2s first appeared last month, and a blurry interactive video that appeared this week seems to confirm this design. In this writer's opinion, it does not look too bad. It would certainly be more functional than placing the camera in the Mi Mix 2, which put it in the lower right corner, and less annoying the central notch of the essential phone. (Although we wonder if Android has support for the corner notches).
The specs of rumors for Mi Mix 2s include a 5.9-inch screen, 8 GB of RAM, up to 256 GB of internal storage and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. All of which would be an impressive handset. However, we will know more later this month, with teasers suggesting that Xiaomi will reveal the Mi Mix 2s on March 27.
