Zelle, Venmo's independent payment application founded by the major banks, is still relatively new to the game, and its users, like the Venmo users before them, are now sadly learning that it is easy to be scammed through the application, according to a TechCrunch report.
Unlike a famous Venmo scam, which involves stealing physical goods by using Venmo to pay with stolen credit cards or pirated accounts (which the payment company would reverse, leaving sellers without goods or money), users of Zelle are being victims of the other way around.
